Flat Panel Doors—6mm Veneer Panel The most economical approach to Flat Panel Doors is to use a thin (6mm) veneer panel, flat both sides. Some prefer the simplicty and light weight of this construction. In Red Oak, Maple and Birch we use Veneered Plywood for economy. In other species we produce 6mm flat panels using MDF and laying up the veneers. These doors are priced the same as VRP or VRP-R. Flat Panel Doors—Reverse Raised Panel | Flat Panel Doors—Reverse Raised Panel Many insist that the best Flat Panel Doors are specified as Reverse Raised Panel. This ensures the same premium grade veneer face as our Veneer Raised Panel (VRP) doors. The weight of the panel has what they consider the “proper” heft and a solid sound when the door shuts closed. This style of Flat Panel Door is ordered as Reverse Veneer Raised Panel. (VRP-R). They are priced the same as Veneer Raised Panel (VRP). We use the same Standard 6097 cutter on a thinner (3/8” thick) core and apply the same premium veneer as our VRP doors to the flat side out. [The same applies to solid wood reverse raised panels, designated as Reverse Raised Panel (RP-R) and priced the same as Solid Wood Rasied Panel (RP)] |
